Bristol Bluebirds Ladies Hockey Club

Fancy playing hockey?! Good news, we're recruiting!!

Set up in 1978, our Hockey club has recently undergone some name changes due to the rebranding of our team sponsor (from Axa Ladies Hockey Club to Friends Life Ladies Hockey Club). Then in 2013 we parted company with our corporate sponsors and took the decision to manage and fund our own Independent hockey club, renaming ourselves by a team vote to become Bristol Bluebirds Ladies Hockey Club.

We would like to think of ourselves as a friendly bunch of ladies, ranging in age from 15 to 40+, all whom enjoy playing hockey each week and socialising together.

Whether you haven’t picked up a hockey stick since school or are currently in training for The Olympics we would love you to join us. We ensure that everyone who wants to play each week does so and ultimately enjoys a regular run around and winning matches!

Currently we play in Brunel Division 3 with matches most Saturdays. Our home pitch for matches is Orchard School

We train Monday evenings 6:45-8pm, September - April at the Henbury School pitch. Training is co-ordinated by our Team Coach Mike Leatt. Mike is a professional hockey coach, so we are extremely fortunate to have Mike on board this season.

Why not come to training and check us out or come and watch our next match? All new players are very welcome to join us, for more information please contact our captain, Claire Thomas at captain@bristolbluebirds.co.uk
